"Food for Thought" - Sweet Science
Here at Teq, we're hungry for education! Combining food and education is a great way to engage students during class. Join us in this session, aimed at middle and high school teachers, and discover how you can incorporate food into your next science lesson!
Using Sphero to Enhance Middle School Science Lessons
Sphero is the programmable robot that can roll, spin, swim... and supplement your next middle school science class! Join our curriculum specialists to learn how Sphero can be used in different areas of science to enhance your lessons. We'll have a ball!
3D Printing: Modeling Geometric Shapes in Tinkercad
3D Printing is becoming increasingly popular in education, and for good reason. The process of creating a print from start to finish addresses many important standards students need to become 21st Century Citizens, for instance, Critical Thinking and Problem Solving as outlined in the 21st Century Framework and Common Core standard MP4: Model with Mathematics. Join us as we define the design process in the context of a classroom and dive into the beginning steps: planning and designing a 3D Print. By the end of this session, you will have the knowledge and steps needed to start a lesson on modeling geometric shapes with an easy to use design tool, Tinkercad!
Have you ever wondered what is the BEST sunscreen and SPF number to protect you from the intense UV light given off by the sun? In this course, we will measure the effectiveness of various SPF ratings for sunblocks using the labdisc. You will need an Enviro labdisc to perform this activity. Our curriculum specialists will show you how to set up your Labdisc, conduct an experiment, collect data, and manipulate the data all within the Labdisc - Globilab sofrware. Join us to learn one of the many engaging uses of Labdisc in the science classroom!
In this course we'll look at just one of the many applications of a Labdisc in the Chemistry classroom. You can use any Labdisc to perform this activity. Our Curriculum Specialists will show you how to conduct an experiment to identify temperature's influence on a substance's solubility using the temperature probe provided with your Labdisc. They will then show you how to analyze and manipulate the data within the Globilab software as well as extensions you could bring to your classroom!
In this course we'll look at just one of the many applications of a Labdisc in the Biology classroom. You will need a BioChem Labdisc to perform this activity. Our Curriculum Specialists will show you how to conduct an experiment to measure heart rate using the heart rate sensor provided with your Labdisc. They will then show you how to analyze and manipulate the data within the Labdisc software.
In this course we'll look at another classroom use of Labdiscs. You will need either an enviro, general science, or biochem Labdisc to perform this activity. We will be predicting the pH of various household beverages and then measure the pH with more accuracy using the Labdisc. We will then analyze and manipulate the data of the acidity of different beverages within the Labdisc software.
Makey Makey - Insulators and Conductors
What types of materials are conductive? Join me as I demonstrate a lesson using our Makey Makey board as students explore the concept of insulators and conductors.
