Many students have become interested in researching their family history or genealogy over the last few years as advances in information technology have brought our family trees to our fingertips. In this session, we will discuss how to incorporate 3D design and printing into your science or social studies lessons on DNA, genealogy, family history, and our forefathers as we research and create family crests that can tell a story about our students' families.

Designing 3D models is made possible through computer-aided design (CAD) softwares. In session 3, we will explore TinkerCAD, a free online collection of software tools that will help you design and create 3D models.

MC: 3D Printing & Design: Session 1 - Introduction

Join us for the first session in our 3D Printing and Design certification! We will start off the certification with an introduction to the series and then discuss the breakdown of courses, assignment requirements, and support resources. Then, we'll explore the basics of 3D design and printing.

MC: 3D Printing & Design: Session 8 - Curriculum Integration

This is the last session of our micro-credential course and will include information about the final assignment.  We will explore a few website resources to look at how teachers have connected the subjects of math, science, social studies, and English (along with others) to 3D printing projects.  At the end, you’ll find out how to submit your final assignment to finish this course and earn your certificate.
