Sphero RVR and micro:bit - Part 3

We finish this video series with using two functions within MakeCode.  The first function drives the RVR from micro:bit button presses, and the second one assigns the heading numbers to create turns.  Let's have some fun driving our Sphero RVR robot around with a micro:bit.

Sphero RVR and micro:bit, Part 2

We add a gamer:bit unit to the micro:bit and connect it all together to the RVR.  Using MakeCode blocks, we program the RVr to react to the button presses on the gamer:bit so we can drive it around.  How about an obstacle course everyone!

Sphero RVR Basics

Sphero RVR is a programmable robot car that takes coding to the next level! RVR customizations let you to connect third-party hardware, and can change the look and feel of this mobile robot! In this session, we'll discuss the basics of using the Sphero RVR to drive across terrains, connect hardware, code using sensors, and even play games. We'll also discuss activities that can be done right in the Sphero app. Let’s get our Sphero RVR rolling!

Programming with Sphero RVR

Once you are familiar with Sphero’s newest robot, the RVR, you’ll be able to start programming it with Sphero EDU.  EDU is both a website and a mobile application where students and teachers can use block programming to take advantage of the RVR’s sensors and movements.  Great for any STEM program!

Sphero Mini Basics

Sphero Mini packs hours of entertainment into a programmable, robotic ball. With LED lights and live sensors, this robot gives students tons of possibilities to be creative. In this session, we’ll discuss the basics of using the Sphero Mini to drive, play games, and even code. We will also discuss activity examples that can be done right in the Sphero app. Let’s get our Sphero Mini robot rolling!

Setting up Your pi-top Straight out of the Box

Straight out of the box, we’ll show you how to install your Raspberry Pi unit and connect to your school network. We’ll also create a pi-top teacher account together so you can easily manage all of your student pi-tops. Come join us for this great getting started session!

Let's Get Rolling with KIBO

We’ve reviewed the basics, and looked at some fun ways to incorporate KIBO into lessons. Now it’s time to expand on KIBO’s abilities, and get rolling with its connections to the foundational physics concepts of motion, force, and friction!

Sphero BOLT Basics

Sphero BOLT is what happens when fun meets programming education. Packed with advanced sensors and an LED matrix, this robot gives students endless possibilities to be creative. While coding and 21st century skills are necessary, Sphero BOLT also goes “beyond code” by incorporating robotics with collaborative STEAM activities that nurture students’ imaginations. Join us to learn how to get the Sphero BOLT rolling in your classroom!

Let's Get Rolling with littleBits

Did you know that you can make your littleBits creation mobile? In this session, we'll show you how to incorporate wheels into your littleBits inventions. You'll be rolling in no time with this guided tutorial geared for 3rd through 8th grade.

Creative Prompts with Cubelets

Can you predict, build, or invent it? Prompts and activity cards can help you drive student-led exercises with the modular robotic blocks known as Cubelets. In this session, we'll show you how to create exciting challenges for your classroom.

Cubelets Basics

What better way to learn the building blocks of robotics than with actual robotic building blocks? Join us to learn about the different types of Cubelet sensor blocks and how to use them to create your own modular robot. Since there’s no wrong way to build with a Cubelet, the focus is on curiosity, collaboration, and practicing computational thinking.

ROBOTIS: DREAM Series

ROBOTIS DREAM Series is the second level of the ROBOTIS educational robotics products. ROBOTIS DREAM allows students to explore robotics in a fun and engaging way while also learning the basics of programing and engineering. Join our Curriculum Specialist to learn the basic skills needed to build the robots, as well the applications needed to program your robot.

Sphero SPRK+ Basics

Sphero SPRK+ is what happens when fun meets programming education. While coding and 21st century skills are necessary, Sphero also goes “beyond code” by incorporating robotics with collaborative STEAM activities that nurture students’ imaginations. Join us to learn how to get the Sphero robot ball rolling in your classroom!

Ozobot Basics

Join us to code with colors! Ozobot's Evo is a robot that can operate with color or block coding.  This tiny but mighty robot packs a lot of power with serveral sensors and communitcation options.  Come join us, you won't want to miss this one!
