Literacy Apps for Early Education

Come take a look at some great apps to help promote early literacy and writing skills in your early education classroom. During this course we will explore Little Writer, Story Dice and epic.  These apps have several pre-loaded activities as well as some customizable features to help with early writing, phonics, vocabulary,  storytelling and critical thinking skills. In this course we show you have these apps apply to all types of learners and can allow for some differentiation in you classroom.  We will also go over some customizable settings on the iPad to make things easier for pre-readers and little fingers. The activities on these apps align with NAEYC and common core early learning standards.

Representing Data in Charts

The purpose of a chart is to visualize data in a way that accurately represents the story a dataset is telling. Tools like Excel, Google Sheets, and Numbers offer a wide variety of chart options and it is sometimes difficult to decide which works best for your purpose and identify which don’t work at all. Join us as we discuss what components are important in various chart types and the ways you can help students choose the appropriate chart for their dataset!
