Using 3D Design for a Family Totem

The tradition of family stories being passed down through generations is something that gives a family a sense of identity. In honor of National American Indian Heritage Month, this session will focus on creating family totems using 3D design. Join us as we discuss how to incorporate STEM and the history and significance of the totem into the classroom to create a new family tradition that our students will be able to share and pass down.

Meet micro:bit, a pocket-sized computer that introduces you and your students to the basics of how hardware and software interact with each other. In this introductory session, we will take a look at all the different features that the micro:bit has to offer and teach you how to incorporate it into your classroom with some easy fall activities that you can use to engage your students.

In this session, we will show you how your students can get creative for the holidays by incorportation 3D design technology as well as 3D printers to create unique and personalized ornaments for the holiday season!
