In this course we'll look at just one of the many applications of a Labdisc in the Chemistry classroom. You can use any Labdisc to perform this activity. Our Curriculum Specialists will show you how to conduct an experiment to identify temperature's influence on a substance's solubility using the temperature probe provided with your Labdisc. They will then show you how to analyze and manipulate the data within the Globilab software as well as extensions you could bring to your classroom!
In this course we'll look at just one of the many applications of a Labdisc in the Biology classroom. You will need a BioChem Labdisc to perform this activity. Our Curriculum Specialists will show you how to conduct an experiment to measure heart rate using the heart rate sensor provided with your Labdisc. They will then show you how to analyze and manipulate the data within the Labdisc software.
In this course we'll look at another classroom use of Labdiscs. You will need either an enviro, general science, or biochem Labdisc to perform this activity. We will be predicting the pH of various household beverages and then measure the pH with more accuracy using the Labdisc. We will then analyze and manipulate the data of the acidity of different beverages within the Labdisc software.
In this course we'll look at another classroom use of Labdiscs. We'll be analyzing sounds and their waves, calculating their frequencies, and then trying to determine an unknown frequency. This requires either a gensci or physio Labdisc.

Join us to learn about Labdisc, an engaging data collection tool to help bring your science experiments to a whole new level. Labdisc can be used for a variety of experimental procedures, and can assist in many parts of the scientific process. Come see it in action with our PD Specialists as we take a look at its functionality in a classroom relevant situation.
Students studying trigonometry will apply their knowledge of solving a triangle to answer this question: What is the steepest angle of incline that the RVR can travel upwards? Students will work in pairs using a ramp and measuring tape to draw a diagram and calculate the angle, test driving the RVR in several trials.
After studying interior and exterior angles of polygons, students will program their RVR to trace around the path of a large pentagon. This will involve speed and heading settings in the Sphero EDU blocks.
In this lesson demostration, students make a gamepad using Play Doh. I show how to test the gamepad out with Scratch programs and also some online free games. This will all lead up to Game Design as students become more familiar with creating circuits on the Makey Makey board.
