Wizards of Ozobot

Whether you are looking to follow the yellow brick road or travel somewhere over the rainbow, this course is for you. In this session, we will explore using Ozobot to help develop and support student understanding and apply skills such as measurement, making predictions, sequencing and drawing conclusions as it applies to coding and robotics. We will focus on Ozobot Blockly with some additional accessories.

Using Makey Makey to Support Exceptional Learners

There are many benefits of integrating STEM into your curriculum as it can give you the opportunity to make learning fun again for your students. But have you ever wondered how a STEM product, like Makey Makey, can positively affect a class full of exceptional learners? Join us as we explore how Makey Makey can be used to help teach academic content to your students in a tangible, interactive, and hands-on way. Learn how you can support your students as they incorporate Makey Makey into their growing passion for innovation.

Measuring the pH of Beverages Using Labdisc

In this course we'll look at another classroom use of Labdiscs. You will need either an enviro, general science, or biochem Labdisc to perform this activity. We will be predicting the pH of various household beverages and then measure the pH with more accuracy using the Labdisc. We will then analyze and manipulate the data of the acidity of different beverages within the Labdisc software.

STEAM: Candy Corn Catapults Using littleBits

Get into the fall spirit with littleBits! In this course, you'll learn how to help your students design a candy-corn-launching catapult using the littleBits Math Pack. We'll review the design challenge and show you everything you'll need to get started. Whether students design their catapult using littleBits or household consumables, your students will love practicing their 21st century skills in this fun, fall-themed activity.

Scary Stories with Scratch

Happy Halloween!  One of the best parts of Halloween is scary stories.  If you are brave enough, come join as we show you how your students can create and code their very own scary (or not-so-scary) Halloween story with Scratch, a free block based coding program.  Can't wait to see you there!

Design Your Holiday Card with Scratch

Are you looking for a unique way to engage students in coding during the holiday season? In this session, we'll discover how to make a holiday card in Scratch! This activity will challenge students to use code to add images, movement, and text on their cards. We'll also explore how to change backdrops, pictures, and even music, to customize our cards. Join us for a creative and festive coding celebration!

Presidential Biographies with Bloxels

Are you ready to learn about U.S. Presidents using video games!? Join us as we create a video game using Bloxels; a hands-on interactive video game builder that we can use to demonstrate and re-create biographies of our nation's greatest leaders!

Robotic Thanksgiving Day Parade

Get ready for some Thanksgiving fun in this cross-curricular and technology-infused course! In this session, we'll use Teq's favorite robots to create a Thanksgiving Day Parade float. We'll learn about the coding skills necessary to complete this assignment, and also explore how to incorporate research and design into this fun classroom project.

Simple Circuits with Your pi-top Breadboard, Part 1

With the pi-top 3 laptop, students can start learning and practicing physical computing. In this session, we’ll plug in our PROTO Plus breadboard and use code to create electrical circuits. Watch us light up our LEDs with Python code!

Math-Infused 3D Design

Ready to learn how to blend math and art ideas in 3D printing projects? Join our session as we look at how we can apply math concepts in a 3D design environment. We’ll look at the concepts of volume, area, and capacity to make lidless boxes for 3D printing. We'll also explore translations and build tessellation tiles using TinkerCad for 3D design.

Tech-Infused Learning: Ozobot and Perspectives in Literature

Enhance your language arts classroom with Ozobot! We'll show you how to use this line-following robot to explore different points of view in literature. You'll learn how to boost your students' character analysis — and their coding skills. This course is aimed at high school level literacy, but you can easily adapt it for younger readers and ELLs.

Tech-Infused Learning: Make Your Own Operation Game

Learning the basics of circuitry has never been so fun. Join us as we make our own version of the classic game "Operation" using everyday materials. Just try to avoid that buzzer!

Combining STEM and Social Studies to Engineer a City

Urban planning is important. New York City has gridlock issues, Atlanta has traffic problems, and Boston has maze-like streets. Wouldn't it be convenient if we could just re-engineer a city to fix these issues? Or, what if we had had the foresight to plan them appropriately before they were constructed? If only it were that easy! In this session, join us as we dive into the history of urban planning, and leave with some great ideas on how to teach this important topic in your classroom.

Valentine's Day Blackout Poetry

Something is in the air this February: education! Making a blackout poem requires the writer to analyze a previously published piece of text, like a newspaper, and then manipulate it to create a poem. Join us to discover what a blackout poem is, and how to create one with your students using Makey Makey and Scratch!

Circuitry Cards and Decorations for the Holidays

Learn the basics of how circuits work while creating unique cards for your friends and family! Paper circuits are a great way to put the 'A' in STEAM. Join this session to learn how to create a card that (literally) outshines all the others!

Putting the A in STEAM: Getting Started with Graphic Design using Microsoft

Let's increase your students' artistic and technological aptitudes and equip them to go full STEAM ahead in Graphic Design! With Microsoft tools Fresh Paint, Sketchable, and Paint 3D, your students can begin to pursue their passions and develop niche skills in this exciting and sought-after field.
