In this session, we will explore using Ozobot to help develop and support student understanding and apply skills such as measurement, making predictions, sequencing and drawing conclusions as it applies to coding and robotics. We will focus on Ozobot Blockly with some additional accessories.

Measuring the pH of Beverages Using Labdisc

In this course we'll look at another classroom use of Labdiscs. You will need either an enviro, general science, or biochem Labdisc to perform this activity. We will be predicting the pH of various household beverages and then measure the pH with more accuracy using the Labdisc. We will then analyze and manipulate the data of the acidity of different beverages within the Labdisc software.

Measuring Heart Health Using Labdisc

In honor of American Heart Month, we will look at one of the many applications of Labdisc in the classroom. We will explore how you can use your Labisc and heart rate sensor to monitor heart health. We'll also take a look at how you can analyze and manipulate associated data within the Labdisc software.

Rube Goldberg Machines with iBlocks

Learn how to use the iBlocks framework to guide your students through the Engineering Design Process, first building context and understanding around Rube Goldberg, simple machines, and then how they come together in a Rube Goldberg Machine. IBlocks content leads students through the planning, design, and construction of their machine and finally, the testing and evaluation, where students learn the importance of refining, remixing, and redesigning.

Join the team from Rube Goldberg Inc and Minecraft global ambassadors they discuss bringing STEAM into the digital world of Minecraft through Rube Goldberg Machines. They will discuss the minecraft.edu tutorials based on simple machines and how those lessons will culminate in a digital Rube Goldberg Machine Contest with NASEF set in the world of Minecraft.

Tinkercad is a free app that can be used to create 3D designs. Teaching with Tinkercad can be used for myriad of different subjects and lessons ranging from coding, to electronics, to art and 3D printing. In this course, we'll take a look at the basics of using Tinkercad in the classroom as well as go over some great ideas to get students thinking creatively.

Simple Circuits with Your pi-top Breadboard, Part 1

With the pi-top 3 laptop, students can start learning and practicing physical computing. In this session, we’ll plug in our PROTO Plus breadboard and use code to create electrical circuits. Watch us light up our LEDs with Python code!
