The Future is Now! – AI and AKCIS in Student Career Development

In the digital age, career development and planning are more dynamic and accessible than ever. This session will provide educators with innovative techniques to integrate AI-driven prompts into their classrooms and coursework. Participants will explore the Alaska Career Information System (AKCIS), and how it can help enhance students’ Personal Learning & Career Plans (PLCPs). Attendees will leave, equipped to help students craft their unique career stories using modern technology.

Julia helps Alaskans (third grade-retirement) develop Personal Learning & Career Plans (PLCPs) and encourages parental engagement by sharing her career services; workforce development; secondary & postsecondary education, and corporate training experience. She serves nationally as the State Leaders in Career Development team, Center for Career Development Advisory Board, and Alliance of Career Resource Development President, and Career Information System State Network Executive Team Chair. Julia received the 2019 Alaska Association of Career & Technical Education Leadership Award for her work promoting PLCPs across Alaska.
