  • Phonemic awareness is a core building block for reading instruction and is necessary for remediation instruction for struggling/non-readers. In this session, we will go over important key terms and review the Common Core ELA Standards/grade levels associated with teaching phonemic awareness. We will also dive into language comprehension, word recognition, letters & phonemes, and blending & segmenting. You will leave this session with a greater understanding of the importance of phonemic awareness and how to ensure students are taught these necessary fundamentals.
