Digital Citizenship Teq-tivity

Students will learn what it means to be a Digital Citizen and learn about what they can do to be responsible members of the digital community

Students will find measures of central tendency, specifically mean, median, and mode. Students will learn how to calculate these meaures through the use of a random number generator, google forms, an interactive Peardeck presentation and a self correcting google sheet.

Culture Show and Tell

Students will highlight an aspect of their culture and present it to their peers using an online video platform. Evaluating Expressions

Students will evaluate expressions, both numerical and algebraic. Students will complete a Quizizz activity on this topic, either as a class or independently at the discretion of the teacher. As a closure students will create their own google slide with an expression and share with a partner for them to complete.

Congruence and Similarity

Students will determine if two or more shapes are congruent and similar. Students will flip, rotate, resize and move shapes on the canvas to determine congruence or similiarity.  Students will then describe the steps necessary to determine congruence or similiarity in the text box on the canvas.

Geometry Choice Board

Students will pick several topics from the choice board to complete using their knowledge of geometry, but also using other skills such as creative writing and illustrations.

Opportunity Cost

In this video students will be able to understand that every decision they make has a consequence and be able to define opportunity cost.

Quadratic Formula

When teaching the Quadratic Formula to solve for x and graph parabolas (quadratic equations, we can present our Notebook file from SLS Online and give students inking tools to work out the process and graph the functions. Take a look!

Self-Paced Refraction Lab

Students will conduct a self-paced lab on refraction using Google Slides and Pear Deck to facilitate their report.

Makey Makey - Simple Circuits

Using your Makey Makey board, you will complete some simple circuits by using conductive material, alligator clips and your fingers!

Makey Makey - Insulators and Conductors

What types of materials are conductive?  Join me as I demonstrate a lesson using our Makey Makey board as students explore the concept of insulators and conductors.

Makey Makey - With Gamepads

In this lesson demostration, students make a gamepad using Play Doh.  I show how to test the gamepad out with Scratch programs and also some online free games.  This will all lead up to Game Design as students become more familiar with creating circuits on the Makey Makey board.

Sphero RVR - Speed Test

Using the movement blocks for Sphero EDU and the RVR robot, students will fill out the Speed Test Chart. They will experiment with various speed settings and time periods and use ratios to calculate the centimeters per second unit rate.

Sphero RVR - Right Triangle Paths

After studying interior and exterior angles of polygons, students will program their RVR to trace around the path of a large pentagon. This will involve speed and heading settings in the Sphero EDU blocks.
