Description As students learn about the Civil War and the events that led up to it, they can also take a deeper dive into how slaves were fleeing to freedom through the Underground Railroad, which did not just send slaves from the South to the North.  There were many other passageways to freedom and students should be tasked with exploring the different pathways to freedom.
